The Oasis Board of Directors meetings are open to the public.
The meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

Executive Committee
Debra Pollock
President Committee: Executive, By Laws and Policy Bio: Debra is from Mt. Pulaski and has resided in Logan County through her life. She has a degree in Business Leadership from Lincoln Christian University. In her work life, she worked for Logan County Housing Authority and the Logan Correctional Center. She retired in 2018 and began volunteering making Floral Arrangements with Rhonda for the Oasis, and began serving as a Oasis Board Member in 2020. Debra has 2 children Clint & Ashley, and has a very special 5lb bundle of love, Tedi-Bear. |
Wanda Lowe
Vice President Committee: Executive, Program Bio: I moved from Springfield to the Logan County area in 2003. Retired from the Illinois State Police , FOID program, in 2010. My husband and I have been together for 20 years and between us we have 3 boys and 5 grandchildren. I was invited to a monthly birthday party and was soon engaged in several of the activities available at The Oasis. I have made new friends and developed new hobbies since joining. My retirement years have been enriched by being a volunteer. The Oasis is an amazing organization, that I am proud to be a member of. |
Andra Lessen
Treasurer Committee: Executive Committee, Ways & Means, & Building & Grounds Bio: I was married for 52 years before the passing of Marvin, on August 15, 2015. We farmed west of Lincoln for many years before retirement in January of 2007. We purchased a home on Rigg Drive in February of 2007. We have four children: Our daughter, Teresa L. Cagle of Edinburg, IL is married to Earle Cagle and is employed at Gift of Hope in Springfield. Our son, Jeffery J. Lessen of Lincoln is married to Jackie. Jeff is employed by Conway Trucking of Bloomington. Two sons, Timothy J. and Jacob E. are deceased. My daughter-in-law, Kristi E. Lessen, lives in Sherman. She is employed by Simmons Institute of Cancer SIU, Springfield. I have 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 30 years old to 9 years old. I also have a great-granddaughters who is four years old and another who is one. My hobbies including being with family and friends, going on trips, and playing pinochle. I try to keep busy. I enjoy volunteering at The Oasis and attending all of the Oasis functions. It has been very helpful to me this past year. |

Secretary Committee: Executive, Bylaws & Policy Bio: The Oasis is a wonderful resource for the seniors of Logan County. You can work out in the fitness room, meet friends for a cup of coffee, a game of cards, or relax with a good book in the comfortable fireplace nook. You can find Medicare help, and a variety of activities from painting to dancing to book discussion. It's a great place for volunteering, come on out! |

Committee: Ways & Means Bio: Tracey, a retired teacher, stays busy with her family and many volunteer activities. She also loves anything that has to do with flowers and gardening. Steve Johnson

Becky Kleinman
Committee: Agency Development, Fundraising Bio: Rebecca – ‘Becky’ works at CAPCIL. She loves to volunteer at the Oasis. She has two sons, & she likes to travel. David Neuendorf

Committee: Buildings & Grounds Bio: Don is a returning board member to the Oasis, where he served as Board President in 2008. Don passionately serves Logan County by serving as the Logan County Coroner and where he operates as Funeral Home Director of Peasley Funeral Homes. Don is also a member of the Logan County Rotary Club. Sue Newman
Committee: Agency Development, Fundraising, Ways & Means Bio: Sue is a lifelong resident of Logan Couty. She has been active with Oasis for 8 years. Sue has been married to her husband, Doug for 54 years. They have two children, Stephanie and Sara. They also have their dog, Ella. |
Ken Richert
Committee: Building & Grounds Bio: Ken is a lifelong resident & farmer of Logan County. Ken farmed with his dad all his life. He is happy to be serving on the Oasis Senior Center Board. Stephen Rohrer
Committee: Bylaws & Policies Bio: Stephen grew up in a Central IL farm family, whose roots extend back to the Civil War. He retired from the University of Illinois but continues to pursue his passion for excellence in education by serving as the president of the Board of Education for Lincoln Elementary School District 27! Stephen is married to Susan, a retired District 27 teacher. They are the parents of two adult sons, Ty and Tayt. Susan currently serves as a board member of the Lincoln Public Library District. |

Rhonda Thornton
Committee: Ways and Means, Agency Development, Fundraising Chairman Bio: Rhonda grew up in Wapella, Il. She found a career and retired with the DOC. She has served the Oasis Senior Center for many years now. She enjoys her children, grandchildren, and her two dogs. Ron Wilson
Committee: Building & Grounds Bio: Ron grew up in Springfield, went to school locally. Worked as an independent insurance agent for 30 years, and worked for the State of Illinois for 17 years in Risk Management, taking care of their insurance. Ron moved to Lincoln around 1994. |
Barb Hinch
Committee: Programs Bio: Barb moved back to Illinois from Minnesota with her husband Dwight who she married in 1980. Barb grew up on a farm in Prairie Creek Township and graduated from Hartsburg Emden High school. She traveled with Dwight during his Time in the U.S. Army. She has worked several places with seniors and challenged adults. She enjoys direct contact with people and is very happy to be back in her "old stomping grounds." Barb did in fact work with meals on wheels with the previous Oasis. Carolene Leslie
Committee: Finance Bio: Carolene moved to Logan County 74 years ago. She has 4 children. Carolene worked for 2 Illinois governors and retired from the State after 38 years and is enjoying retired life. Kathie Williams
Committee: Bio: Hi, my name is Kathie Willams. I was born and raised in the Lincoln area and now own Small Town Creations in downtown Lincoln. I am married to Jim and together we have 5 daughters and 3 grandchildren with one on the way!! I joined the Oasis board to make a difference in the lives of our seniors as well as an impact to our community. I believe that one person can plant a seed to make the world a better place, starting right in our own back yard. |
