The Oasis Board of Directors meetings are open to the public.
The meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

Bio: Debra is from Mt. Pulaski and has resided in Logan County through her life. She has a degree in Business Leadership from Lincoln Christian University. In her work life, she worked for Logan County Housing Authority and the Logan Correctional Center. She retired in 2018 and began volunteering making Floral Arrangements with Rhonda for the Oasis, and began serving as a Oasis Board Member in 2020. Debra has 2 children Clint & Ashley, and has a very special 5lb bundle of love, Tedi-Bear.

Bio: I moved from Springfield to the Logan County area in 2003. Retired from the Illinois State Police , FOID program, in 2010. My husband and I have been together for 20 years and between us we have 3 boys and 5 grandchildren. I was invited to a monthly birthday party and was soon engaged in several of the activities available at The Oasis. I have made new friends and developed new hobbies since joining. My retirement years have been enriched by being a volunteer. The Oasis is an amazing organization, that I am proud to be a member of.

I was married for 52 years before the passing of Marvin, on August 15, 2015. We farmed west of Lincoln for many years before retirement in January of 2007. We purchased a home on Rigg Drive in February of 2007. We have four children: Our daughter, Teresa L. Cagle of Edinburg, IL is married to Earle Cagle and is employed at Gift of Hope in Springfield. Our son, Jeffery J. Lessen of Lincoln is married to Jackie. Jeff is employed by Conway Trucking of Bloomington. Two sons, Timothy J. and Jacob E. are deceased. My daughter-in-law, Kristi E. Lessen, lives in Sherman. She is employed by Simmons Institute of Cancer SIU, Springfield. I have 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 30 years old to 9 years old. I also have a great-granddaughters who is four years old and another who is one.
My hobbies including being with family and friends, going on trips, and playing pinochle. I try to keep busy. I enjoy volunteering at The Oasis and attending all of the Oasis functions. It has been very helpful to me this past year.

Secretary Committee: Bio: The Oasis is a wonderful resource for the seniors of Logan County. You can work out in the fitness room, meet friends for a cup of coffee, a game of cards, or relax with a good book in the comfortable fireplace nook. You can find Medicare help, and a variety of activities from painting to dancing to book discussion. It's a great place for volunteering, come on out! |

Judy Parsons
Committee: Ways & Means Bio: I work Part time at LCHS. I started out there full time in 1995. I retired in 2010, but hated being retired. I returned in 2012 as a part timer. I've been a member of the oasis for several years. I help with Bingo on Tuesday night once a month and currently serve on Ways and Means. The Oasis is a great place to meet people and make new friends. |

Vice President Committee: Agency Development Chair Bio: After retiring from the State, I found myself sitting at home a lot. I started going to bingo on Tuesday nights and was asked to help out with bingo. After volunteering for bingo, I started doing other volunteering. It gave my life meaning and purpose. I also love to travel with my kids, grandkids, and friends. And just like living simple life and helping others. |
